Growing up, I remember and making homemade yeast bread and having to kneed it, let it rise for an hour, kneed it some more, let it rise for another hour… then finally getting to bake it. It was a terribly long process, although, one that was worth it! Because that warm, homemade bread with butter and homemade jam (click here for delicious homemade strawberry jam and peach jam recipes) is just so good!
Now, it is so easy to make homemade bread, with no kneading or rising—just mix and bake!

I actually found this to be a useful recipe a few months ago. As you will remember, when knowledge of the pandemic became more widespread and many of us across the country were on lockdowns (by state or local authorities), it was actually pretty hard to find many of the basics at the grocery store… you remember, right? No toilet paper, no meat, no milk… and no bread. Of course, there were many other things missing from the shelves too, but it sort of became essential to figure out a substitute for buying a loaf of bread at the store.

This bread bakes up nicely. It can be sliced and just eaten as a side dish with a meal, or used to make sandwiches. Although, I would say that it is a bit “heavier” than a loaf of bread that you buy at the store, so you would want to cut the slices pretty thin if using two pieces to make a sandwich.
