The Dollywood theme park and resort is the “Disney” attraction of Tennessee. From the roller coasters, to the live shows, to the delicious food, to the boutique shops, there is something for everyone to enjoy at the Dollywood theme park and resort.
Dollywood is so much more than just an amusement park. Staying at the resort is a vacation in and of itself. We will give you all the insider tips that we learned on our family vacation to the DreamMore Resort and Dollywood to help you plan your ultimate trip to the Smoky Mountains.
Highlights of the Dollywood DreamMore Resort
The DreamMore Resort was a beautiful, relaxing oasis. The best way I can describe this resort is contemporary elegance, with southern hospitality. The sprawling resort is palatial in its layout, but as you walk in, there is a large porch with rocking chairs to welcome you and give it that southern charm that makes you feel right at home.
Live Entertainment
You will see live entertainment around the resort too. We saw a singer in the lobby area performing some of Dolly’s famous songs; there was also live entertainment in the pool area by the firepit, where your family can relax and make smores (provided for free by the resort!) and listen to music, play a game of cornhole, or just sit out by the pool. They even have bedtime stories for your little ones each night.
Outdoor Pool and Activities
Speaking of the pool area, you will definitely want to reserve some time for an afternoon or evening by the pool. The outdoor pool features a zero-entry edge with a gradual slope into the pool. The pool curves around by a rock wall with small, relaxing waterfalls. With multiple lifeguards on duty and plenty of lounge chairs, your family may just find this your favorite spot at the resort!
Besides the pool, there is a splash pad area and playground that younger kids will enjoy. The resort also features gardens that you can stroll through, cornhole games, and a firepit. The firepit area has live family-friendly entertainment and free smores for the kids!
Restaurants
The DreamMore Resort has a few dining options:
Song & Hearth: A Southern Eatery— families can enjoy this family-style or buffet style restaurant for breakfast or dinner.
DM Pantry— if you are just looking for a snack or lighter meal the DM Pantry is perfect! Some of the items that you can order include: pizza, salad, ice cream, bakery items, or the famous Cinnamon Bread!
The Lounge— grab a burger, nachos, or a drink and relax at the lounge or poolside!
Dollywood Theme Park
If you stay at the DreamMore Resort, you have access to a concierge where you can buy park tickets— and a huge bonus is that you get a TimeSaver pass, which allows you access to an expedited line for certain rides. You only get so many per day though, so make sure you use them at the most popular rides with the longest lines! Another benefit of staying at the DreamMore Resort is that you can ride the complimentary shuttle to and from the resort to Dollywood theme park.
There is something at this theme park for everyone. There are plenty of thrill rides, shows, shopping, and places to eat! We visited during summer celebration and ended the night by watching a lighted drone show. I have heard Dollywood is decorated beautifully for Christmas, so definitely wanting to go back for that!
